Why Screened Speakers.

Probably a naive question but could someone please expain why it is important not to place unscreened speakers close to the TV.

Is this so that the TV does not affect the speakers or the other way around ?.

I think it has to do with the magnets in the speakers as it can affect the TV and other electrical equipment..... I think

Not a problem for modern flatscreen TVs...
