Why was the Sony 40Z4500 left out of the test list looking to show the best HDTV (40"-42") out on the market today?

With Sony only having the new 40W5500 in the test why did WHF not place it in the test? Even if its not a new model it is I feel better than any of the current Sony sets!

I am awaiting for a better spec Panasonic to come out before I buy a new screen. But I have seen the Sony 40Z4500 and its a great image. I have also seen the new Philips 42PES001 and must say its about as good image as I have seen since the Pioneer.

So is the Philips 42PES001 the best 40"-42" HDTV on the market today?

Sony didn't supply the Z4500 for the test, but we've spent enough time with it to know it's a superb set, with the 200Hz Motionflow of real benefit for fast on-screen action.

However, the Philips is something else - a truly glorious picture, a real all-rounder and in our view the best premium set at that size.

If you've got that level of money to spend on a set, i'd urge you to see both in action before you buy - and as you point out, there's still the top-end Panasonics to come. Oh, and the new Samsungs- you should see the 7000 series upwards, too!

Thank you as always you are on the money and now I understand why the 40Z4500 was not in the test.

As you have just given a review (online) with the 7000 serie it looks like I will hold out for the Panasonic model.

You right about the Philips 42PES0001 model its the best screen I have seen and I wonder if this model maybe in the running for the Awards 09.

Does anyone know if this model from Philips there top of the range?
