Why does make CD player make my home cinema buzz?

When my Naim Nait5i CD player is plugged in and I turn my home cinema on, there's a loud buzz from the front left and right speakers. When I unplug it the noise goes.

My AV amp connects to my Naim hi fi amp via pre outs for the left and right speaker so I guess the hi fi amp is the 'connection' between CD player and AV amp.

The whole lot is on a dedicated mains spur with its own earth.

Any ideas?

It could be as simple as the wrong cables being too close to each other. I had a buzzing amp issue a while back and resolved it simply by moving the amps mains cable away from other cables.

Not too sure, sounds like an earthing problem. remember the Naims use a dedicated earth path in the signal cables as well as the mains cable. try some ground loop isolators.

Got the Ground Loop Isolator today - it makes the hum even worse, unbreably loud with it!
