This is what I was saying before the PJ world is different to TV's and seems oddly placed presently
You can get a 4K TV cheap and yet there is only 1 manufacturer with actual 4K projectors, certainly not cheap. But these do not fully support the full content quality that will supposedly be available for 4K, most will be covered with this year range I think
JVC new range does fully support all the content except its not real 4K only upscaled 1080p in reality, so it doesnt fully support the content it in my mind either really does it.
Epson have the bad boy laser projector but again not fully supported and not 4K either and again very expensive.
So to get a New £1500 4K projector seems a long way off - because the premium for a JVC or Epson 4K is going to be bloody high when they are charging £5k - £9k for a non 4K one now.
3 years is a long time in tech so it will be interesting to see if prices do drop that aggressively in that time frame - or if 4K will remain a very premium product for the manfucturers to reclaim the cost of implementing in the first place?
You would epect Sony to be the first out with one as it stands, but I am thinking more like £3k price point - sure it would sell like hot cakes at that price
Is an interesting one
