Who has the Boston Acoustics XS ?

Who is using Boston Acoustics XS and is willing to share experiences? I have a few questions about this system.

Sure I've seen a few people with the Boston in their sigs. There's one user review here- albeit very brief- too.

Thanks Clare, I only can't seem to figure out if it is possible to contact members directly.

My main question really is wherther these little speakers need to be positioned in a certain way (next to and/or at same level of the TV for example) for optimal performance, or if I could position them in each top-corner of my living room. Room is about 9m wide, 5m deep and 3m high.

Anybody a clue?

Hi,

I have the Boston Acoustics Soundware XS and can confirm that these speakers sound remarkable even in a room based on your specs. In my living room, I was forced to have the two front speakers mounted on the upper corners and the two rears on the ceiling positioned behind the sofa/listening area. I had bought my house with the walls and ceilings already setup with pipes for speaker wires. It would have looked unsightly to leave the holes as is or painted/plastered over. But I must say that the speakers coupled with my Denon AVR-1911 receiver sound phenomenal despite my "compromise". So I think you shouldn't have any major problems. Test it out!

Thanks a lot Qwantum!! I will go for the BA XS set, together with a Denon 1611/1911 or Onkyo 508/608. Now all I have to do is find a good deal

I temporarily live in Rome for work. Since most UK websites do not ship to Italy due to insurance issues, does anybody have some advice on how to get a good deal? I saw amazon.co.uk has a good offer (GBP 318 for the speakers) and they ship for only 26 quid.

Not a problem, jj! Either receiver will make a great companion piece to the BA XS set.

Unfortunately, I can not help you on finding a good deal since I'm in Sweden. But that Amazon offer sounds like a good one. Good luck!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I also live in Sweden and am looking for good dealers for Marantz/Denon/Monitor Audio equipment. Is Hi Fi Klubben my only real choice?? And also how do you find the 1911? I'm also torn between that and the Onkyo.

Yes, unfortunately, Hi-Fi Klubben is your only choice since they are apparently an exclusive seller of Denon receivers in Sweden.

I am VERY impressed by the 1911's performance. It has a lot of power, more than enough, for my living room which is an open space.
