I've almost come to a decision over which TV to buy now but, still haven't totally made-up my mind.

Im on the waiting list at Jl for a 37PX80, being lured in by it's great VFM and great reviews. Seeing as I'll be watching a lot of SD it seemed like a great choice.

But my other source of content for the TV will be the PS3. I always used to hear plasmas were poor for gaming and LCDs were the way to go, so I've been looking at the 32LX / LZD85 LCDs.

Is it true that LCDs have an edge over plasma when gaming?

If you are using it for anything other then gaming, i.e. watching SD tv, then get the Plasma. You will not be disappointed with the gaming on the plasma, but if you get an LCD, you will be really annoyed with how it performs as a telly in SD. I have the 42PX80, and it is excellent.... I would never buy an LCD for my main telly, only for a small set in the kitchen or bedroom. If you are worried about image retention or plasma burn.... don't be.

No. Go for the plasma. They're usually better at handling fast motion and give deeper blacks.

Go with your first choice, Lewis. My Pioneer 428xd plasma works a treat with the PS3 (GT Prologue is amazing) and SD pictures (via BT Vision) look much better than they would have with an LCD.
