hello

i'm new to all this hifi stuff and am just about to buy some seperates. I want to get this TEAC amp ( http://www.hiwayhifi.com/site/product.asp?section=1&Cat=39&Sub=171&Prod=26895)
there's the spec. I ideally wanted to run some KAM speakers with it
but I don't really mind. I just wondered what size speakers would be
best? It does 90 watts per channel at 8 ohm someone said I would need
to get 100 watt speakers but i thought this would be too small?

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think you're being fed slightly off-centre info.

You need a speaker which is rated to handle amplification of that order, and most, fortunately, will do so. Typically, most speakers for home use will take anything from around 25-30wpc up to 125wpc or more. It really varies, but you should be fine with that power rating. Too little or too much power will do more damage to either the speaker or the amp, but that's not an issue here.

I liked the look of the AR610 - seems like a good entry level amp and Teac have a decent pedigree (to put it mildly). Why the KAMs though?
