Current system
Yamaha RX-V1800 Receiver connected to
Front pair - TDL RTL2s
Centre - Mordaunt Short 905C
Rear surround - Eltax HT2 Bipolar Surrounds
It's all been setup using the Yammy's very clever auto setup system. I currently find that when the sound swoops to the rear speakers, there's a definite change in the sound, which marrs the illusion of the surround system. Plus my front right seems a little quiet in some of the frequency range compared to my front left. Basically I think my system is compromised speaker wise, and think a decent speaker package would make all the difference.
I'm sitting around 2.7 to 2.5m from the front speakers, 0.7m from the right rear and 1.5m from the left rear.
The rears are just behind my head (Due as always to room contraints) and are mounted on the wall.
So my question can anyone recommend a speaker package below £1000 that will sound great with both hi-def 5.1 surround from blu-ray/DVDs and be equally impressive with music?
I don't mind (In fact would prefer) floor standing front speakers. The centre can also be fairly large if needed. But due to positioning, I believe the rears need to be bipolar.
