Im set on getting a nad amp but which one do i go for. The nad 315,326,320 or 325 , obviously some are more powerful than others but does anyone know of any differences in sound between them. Have nad just kept to pretty much the same sound with all of the above models. Or maybe you just think one of the models is the stand out one. Will be pairing with wharfedale 9.1.

Thanks for the quick reply David , it seems the nad 320 is quite old now and only available at Stone Audio has anyone used this online store if so are they a good company.

The lineage is C320 - C320BEE - C325BEE - C326BEE, with the 326 being the latest in that line. The C315BEE is a lower-range amplifier.

I've had the C325BEE and my current C326BEE, and I've heard the C320BEE at length. The '326BEE is the best by a clear margin IMO. It has all the punch and drive of the older designs but without the slight muddiness that could occasionally hinder those amps. It is a cleaner sound but with plenty of characteristic NAD warmth and that normal high quality bass the brand is synonymous with.

And BTW, those Diamond 9.1s are terrific speakers.

Thanks for the info. Yes the wharfedale 9.1's are very good speakers but i feel my current denon dm37 isnt showing them to there full potential , what do you think on this. Also i see you have a nad 545 with your 326 is this the best match i have even thought of mixing and matching and maybe even using a cambridge audio cd player with the nad amp.

The little Denon is a good unit (bar that awful volume control) but the Wharfedales need better to give their absolute best.

The 545 is a good match to the 326 and I've tended to find that NAD equipment works best with NAD equipment. I found the same when I used to have a C325BEE with a C521BEE (the latter of which I've still got as a back-up). Cambridge CD players are excellent though and a 550C or 650C might make a good buy, although I haven't heard either with the NAD so couldn't really comment.

If I was buying again tomorrow I would still buy the C545BEE and the C326BEE. I love them!

CA again in your setup? - thought you're done with CA products.

🙂

Just the phono stage. There won't be any more CA amps here, talented though I think they are.
