Which electronic is the best for rock?

I would think twice about doing that to be honest and if your preferred genre is not classical or soft music, then you would be much much better off purchasing the MA RS6 speakers together with Kandy K2 amp, as opposed to purchasing the Spendor that is, not sure about the Tannoy though.

Audition them all. I find my Spendors great with rock and it really depends on what you want. ATCs are apparently very good.

Audition a few - I think you can find something to do the job that sits outwith the boxes marked "these speakers only do rock", "these ones only do jazz", and so on. What kind of sound do you like? What's the budget? Shortlist Q Acoustics 1050i floorstander; big old analogue sound and heaps of speaker for the money - it punches WELL above its weight.

Thereafter, Leema Xeros, great for rock apparently but a fine speaker in its' own right.

Consider used as well; I remain to be convinced about some of these slim floorstanders on the market just now. Half of them seem to need a sub attached on much of the time. The used market gets you access to some seriously good boxes for the kind of budget you seem to be looking at.

I like a warmer sound without brightness and sharpness. Rock will quikly sound too bright. I like a "analogue" sound. A friend finds that it is the sound of the end seventies.

As others have said, audition the speakers with a couple of different amps.

peterpan:.......... Especially with bad rock cd's.

Hi peterpan. Your later post stating that you like warmth without brightness and sharpness, combined with something that makes bad rock CDs sound good is a tall order. I agree with the general view that you need to audition. But warmth without sharpness and brightness is something that Musical Fidelity does well. So long as you don't mind a bass that is as clear as a bell, but does not shake the room, I would certainly look to audition MF kit.
