I have a hankering for a change, any suggestions for a next step up in quality.

A Yamaha A-S2100 or Yamaha A-S3000 both should last years or buy better speakers and keep the A-S2000

Speakers... I've gone through ATC11's , Kefs l50's B&w CM1's currentley running

Q Acoustcs Concept 20's for various reasons, but they do seem to suite my rooms acoustics.

Interesting. You'd get more sound per pound if you upgrade speakers and buy an amp with what's left.

£3-4k amp for these is most likely overkill however good you think they are.

If you like Yamaha but want something that actually has guts, try Jadis Orchestra - it's a valve amp. But I don't know if it would be a good match with Q Acoustics Concepts.

You'd hear any improvements with your new 4000 pound amp on your present speakers. Your present Yamaha has already maxed them.

Maybe you should change your speakers first. Then if the present amp is not enough, then consider changing for a new amp.

Even I wonder why you prefer the concept 20's over everything else in your room. What is your present room size ?

Code Acoustics

System 1 would be at the top of my shortlist if I was in the market for a new hifi. Three way active speakers with very high quality drivers. A bit over budget but if you sold your current system you may be able to stretch to it. The designer Ceri Thomas occasionally posts on the AVI forum. He comes across as being very knowledgeable and friendly without any hard sell.
