Which digital optical cable? VDH The Optocoupler or QED Reference??

Now, please, if you don't think that cables make a difference, don't bother replying to this post. I do.

Can anyone give me an idea about these two cables? I like the sound of the VDH one but am worried about how flexible the cable will be. I want to connect my new mini pc to my DacMagic. I'm not worried about the price.

i believe cables make a difference too, but i've tried a few optical ones and have 3 different ones right now including the t.c.i. one that the mag rate. can't hear any difference at all. i'd go for the one that suits best in practical terms, ie. flexibility etc. would love to hear though if you do find one that makes a difference.

edit: just googled the vdh one, looks interesting (will i never learn?), give that one a go and report back!

Yes sir! I have read a very interesting article when a hifi journo tried the VDH cable and a Wireworld (I think) one up against some very expensive coaxials. He had never bought something that only offered toslink and was astonished by the results. I will get the VDH one and if it's not bendy enough, will send back/sell on and get the QED one.

If you have to go for the expensive minority, I tried the VDH and Supra, couldn't hear the slightest difference but settled on the Supra because of its sturdiness and flexibility.

I would have had money on you going fir the Opto, Octopo!

Which Supra and are you saying the VDH is rigid?

Supra ZAC I think it is, I say as it is delivering enjoyment to my ears. I really praise VDH but they do tend to over-engineer things...
