Regardless of price, anyone heard these speaker packages comparatively for music and movies? I will be using them with a Yamaha 763, with pre-outs for front speakers to an old Yamaha amp and CD player (also due for replacement soon). I will be listening to multi-channel music as well as stereo music and watching movies with sony RDR hxd 970 and Panny TH37PX80. I would like to give these speakers a proper audition, but have no hi-fi specialist nearby that stock all the following speakers, so wondered what people thought. They are on my shortlist based on compact size and alleged great sound for music.

1. Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 HCP

2. KEF 2005.3

3. KEF 3005 SE

4. Monitor Audio Radius, R90 fronts and rears, R180 centre.

Cheers folks!

5. As above, but new HD version for front 3

Hello,

I'd like to throw in the Tannoy Arena (full not light) if you're after good film and music sound. I auditioned quite a few small speaker packages for films and music and picked the Arena.

I'd also be tempted to knock off the 3005SE. For me it was fine for films, (though it picked up less detail than some I auditioned), but not good with music, which was mainly down to the sub.

The Arcam Muso Logo is also supposed to be good, but I didn't audition it myself.

Hope this helps.
