Which CD player????????

This is Sumit from INDIA.

I am having CAMBRIDGE AUDIO AZUR 650A as amplifier.

I have choosen CAMBRIDGE AUDIO 650C as CD player and MARANTZ CD6004.

Which ONE should I buy???

Please advice.....

I have listene to both an for me the ca was better. Sounding a ltle more detailed an a litle less atificial.

Some would say it can sound a litle bright but I doubt this will be the case with your amp.

For tha rest Its more a question of taste. an If I remember well the Marantez was also a little cheaper.

The one you like the sound of best! They're both very good, it's down to your personal taste. If it were me, I would choose the CA simply because it matches the amp and can be controlled with the same remote!

I will certainly go for CA...

In India, the price is almost the same.

But right now CA651 is available.

What is the basic difference between CA 650C & CA 651C.

Ah well. Just to chuck a little confusion into the mix, I also auditioned the CA 650C and the Marantz CD6004. I much prefered the Marantz. http://www.whathifi.com/forum/hi-fi/my-new-cd-player-marantz-cd6004

They're both good players, and the CA looks better, but to my ears (which is all that matters when it comes to music reproduction) the Marantz was clearly better. Have fun auditioning them.

go for Maratnz C6004! I'm having a Marantz C6003 (partenered with NAD C355) and it sounds excellent!!!

however, duo azur 650 a+c also a great combo, hard to beat in terms of sound-stage....and you can use only one remote-control....but, you have to try and test which combo pair the best with your speakers and cables etc......

For what it is worth have you considered a music streamer as a source instead of a CDP, using your MAC or PC as a music server? CD is on borrowed time in my opinion. A dead medium before the decade is out.....

Hi,

I owned the ca 640c v2, great detail but after awhile I found it a bit bright for my tastes and on some music like jazz I found i became fatigued after 30minutes listening, so I sold it, great for rock and pop though.

I also own a marantz and have listened to the 6003 they tend to be a little more balanced tonally, and a little more natural and fluid in the mids, and generally are good allrounders with various types of music.
