First post, so please be gentle...
As with a similar poster, I was all set on buying the Onkyo 606 amp to go with my PS3 and shortly to be purchased Monitor Audio R250/R90 combination. I then read about the Denon 1909, so decided to go for that one instead due to the 1080p upscaling.
THEN I measure the space in the cabinet, which is only 35cm deep! There are no problems with height or width, just the depth. It looks like I will need to go for the Sony DG820 which is 32cm deep (which I think will be OK after allowing for wires etc). Apart from losing the upscaling ability, will this be a major step down?
From the specification, it looks like the amp will drive the Monitor Audios no problem. The only other options I could find are the cheaper Yamahas or a non Onkyo/Denon amp.
I still intend to audition the Sony amp, but no one has them (Richer Sounds told me that they had been recalled to resolve the Sky HD problem?)
Any help would be gratefully received.
