Had read on another site some comments about the new panasonic plasmas x10 being a little lacklustre in terms of picture produced. Wondered if this was just the classic plasma vs lcd difference, or is the new model tx-p42x10 actually a little less vibrant than last years th-42px80 set which, along with the th-37px80, seemed to get such universal praise? Would find it hard to believe that panny would take a step backwards in picture quality, but thought you the experts would be able to comment best upon this!

many thanks.

The new sets are only 720 and not full HD the next models the G-Series will be Full-1080p sets so should be a better proposition, they are due at the end of the month or there abouts.

i'm still interested to know about the tx-p42x10 as i'll be watching mainly SD (and hear that full HD don't always deliver such a good SD picture) and the HD ready sets are a fair bit cheaper.

It's true the TX-P42X10 is 'only' HD-ready but it's a very good screen nonetheless - and its TV tuners are well above average.

Hi Claire,

Is it true that from the specs available, that in terms of things like PQ & Black Levels, there will be no realÿdifferenceÿbetween the new Panny G10, G15 & V10 Series and one is just getting more fancy features? Please in your review comment on how good or bad the SD performance of the G10 against your reference Kuro!
