my centre arrived today to complete my system so far 2 f4 floorstanders and 2 f1 rr's.

as u can see from the subject and the image where would it be best the amp is on top atm because its a really snug fit on the middle shelf and worried about it not getting enough air to breathe other wise thats where the centre would go.

would the centre be ok on the middle shelf?

should i place the amp in the tightly fit middle shelf and place centre in its place on top?

put the speaker on the amp?

where would it sound best?

hope you can help thanks adam.

Surely, the amp would fit better on the BOTTOM shelf, moving the Sky box and PS3 to the middle? ÿIt looks as if it's not such a squeeze. ÿThat would allow for the centre on the top shelf (where it would sound best).

Hi Adam,

Move the amp to the bottom shelf and other equipment to the middle shelf and place centre speaker on top shelf.

i'd either go with the suggestion of moving the amp to the bottom, and the speaker on top, or, wallmounting the centre under the screen. not sure if it'd be too big though.

If the Amp fit on the bottom that would be ideal but I bet it is too deep.

I would put the Centre on the middle shelf and try to angle it up. Should sound fine there.

I have to give Adam credit in that a simple move to the bottom shelf would not have been missed

The shelves seem to be all the same size, difficult to judge from pic. If the Skybox fits wouldn't the amp fit, not sure of the sizes.

Hi, I would say move the amp to the bottom as suggested and sky and ps3 middle but bring the tv down off the wall and put the centre channel in front of the tv (providing it isn't going to obscure the screen) I have the same speakers and a very similar stand (in fact probably even flimsier than yours) and it works fine. That way the two fronts will be on either side of the screen rather than below which is the optimum position.

I agree. A couple of door wedges will do the job.

I have pretty much the same stand as you and have my centre speaker placed on the middle shelf angled up so that it meets the listening plane of the tweeters from the main speakers from where I am sitting. Use blobs of blutak to raise the height at the front to the correct angle and make sure the front of the speaker juts out a bit to avoid sound reflections from the glass.
