When will the Rega DAC-R be updated?

The current Rega DAC-R does not match the latest Rega Brio nor the updated Rega Apollo. Bad news for potential Rega system customers who’d like their components to match.

Any plan to change/upgrade/update it in line with the rest of the range?

Pass, I’m not a Rega retailer. The Brio changed a year ago though - I’d have expected the whole range to be updated and matched up within about 6 months. Maybe launching at Bristol?

I wouldn’t want to invest a total of £1196 in two components - from the same company, at the same price point - if that company can’t be bothered to put them in matching cases (as they did with the latest Brio and Apollo).

It's possible the market for stand alone DACs has slowed down as more and more manufacturers make amplifiers with built in ones.

Perhaps Rega have another integrated in development which offers this?

Perhaps an all-in-one with streaming?

I've just contacted my usual retailer Infidelity Hi-Fi over at Hampton Wick, and he hasn't heard about any facia updates to the Dac-R yet.

As he's a Rega main dealer, it seems the company are keeping it close to their chests at the moment.

He didn't want to do a DAC either for a long time.
