When WHF review budget speakers what amp are they using?

I was just wondering, are budget amps used, or higher end amps? and is more than one being used to test them with.

We use a variety of amplification, both price-comparable and reference, and both Award-winners and current models of interest.

Thanks Andrew,do you happen to know what amps were tested with the BR2's?. Also is the review written on the basis of what the results were with the higher end amp? I am asking because I assume (having not heard anything more expensive than NAD C352) that the higher end amps will bring a lot more from the speakers than the budget ones.

No, it will have been written on the basis of findings with both price-comparable and reference products.

Within reason, yes, the speakers will respond well to the use of better amplification. But there will come a point where it is more cost-effective to upgrade to better speakers, rather than keeping on throwing money at the amplification.
