The Prodigy Experience which I still listen to sometimes. I no longer have the original album but the remasterd version 'Experience Expanded' sounds great and had a few extra tracks too.

Beautiful Vision/Van Morrison which awaited playback on my yet to be received Sony CDP101. Followed by Elton John/Superior Sound Of

How does it sound now... dunno... it's around somewhere but it got used for research into error correction and was lightly sanded and attacked with wire wool. It was still playable in the 90's :)

Nowadays it's more the likes of Brendel that floats my boat.

The first cd's bought back in the 90's i played through a PS1 (which i still have [no deceased]) and listened via a colour TV !! They were Bjork Post & Pulp Fiction sound track and they still get played. I was amazed by the sound quality even through the TV!!

Listened to Bjork only a couple of weeks ago, great album.

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey in 1994. My first foray into the digital age. It marked, for me at least, the shift towards CDs and away from vinyl. A decade of CD buying then a gradual return to the black (and many coloured) vinyl.

The CD never gets played, but the ripped version is streamed quite often and sounds good. Possibly my favourite of all Morrissey albums, if push came to shove.

The first modern recording I bought on CD was Prefab Sprout's Jordan: The Comeback in 1991, and the sound till today is still out of this world.

Another one that comes to mind is Sting's The Soul Cages, also bought in 1991 - brilliantly recorded (might have something to do with Q-sound), depressing content notwithstanding - but it's one of my favourites cos this is the closest he's come to making a rock record, and it arguably has an edge to it which all his other solo records lack.
