I seem to remember that when I was a kid in the 'Sixties, I got an Elvis album from someone, and as we only had an old 78rpm gramophone at home I played it on that!

First CD(s) I ever bought are 'Ride The Lightning' & 'Master Of Puppets' by Metallica. Bought both at the same time about 20 years ago. Still got 'em and now they're joined by about 500 friends!

Back in the summer of 1977, it was either ELO's Out of The Blue (blue vinyl) or Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds. Can't recall which.

A Shakin' Stevens record, dread to think which one but I was about four. Things haven't improved much except for the playback equipment.

First CD was the single, Boney M Megamix. Yikes

Ok let's see...

First CD -- Salvatore Accardo's Philips recording of the Four Seasons. Bought from Our Price, contained in an early smooth edged jewel case.

First LP -- Pink Floyd "Meddle" a second hand copy. I had only bought singles before. This is the 2nd pressing, sounds wonderful!

First Download -- B12 "Time Tourist" Bought from Bleep about three years ago.

1st LP Complete madness - Madness

1st Cassette Steeltown - Big Country

1st CD Simple Minds - Sons And Fascination

Got my first CD in 1986. A sony CDP 35 to go in my midi system. My mum still has it at home with some Castle Trent speakers. Now have nearly 4000 CD's. It's a bummer ripping them to hard drive

Hi,

First CD was Phil Collins - Face Value (I think).

First LP must have been Gary Numan or Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf. Most have gone to the vinyl graveyard aka the bin. I still have some singles in the attic that are mainly 'special editions'.

First d/load - mmmm not a clue. Strange I can remember music from 20 years ago but not a few years ago.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

First CD was a Naxos recording of Jeno Jando playing Schumann's 'Kinderscenen Suite'. I was about 12 at the time (about 1990) and was about to get my first CD player (a Saishio CD-X200) to add to my hi-fi set-up for Christmas. I purchased it because I was learning to play 'Traumeri' from the suite at the time.

The first LP I purchased was Hits 4, bought from Woolworths when I was about 8. I still have it now and listening to it brings back many memories. I purchased a 2 LP Abba collection at the same time and absolutlely wore it to within an inch of its life on my Pioneer PL12D and, later, a Sansui P-D15.

First download was probably one of Jennifer Rush's albums when I first had an iTunes account. I *think* it would have been 'Move In'. A good 80s pop album and a very under rated artist.

Skunk Anansie - Stoosh

Twisted has such a kick ass riff in it, from this album on I've always been a bit of a metal-head.

Four-Blues Traveler was given to me before I bought my first album. When I had the cash in my hand, I made utterly regretful decisions...see below.

First albums I purchased on my own: Lion King Soundtrack and a Jon Secada album (I was ten...But that Jon Secada hit still has a hold on me.)

Don't worry though, my listening tastes are much tougher now. Athlete anyone? :)

1st album I think was NOW 5 (aw, come on, I was 9...)

1st CD was definitely Bridge of Spies by T'Pau.

1st bought download. Erm... nope. Refuse on grounds of quality. Use napster to listen to stuff (on monthly subs), but always buy CDs or vinyl.
