It has incredible dynamic range and contrast for a plasma - it will be sharp. And is known for it.

My money would probably go here:

http://www.johnlewis.com/panasonic-viera-tx-p42gt50-plasma-hd-1080p-3d-smart-tv-42-with-freesat-freeview-hd/p231568176

And you are not going to want anything sharper. Wednesday you might pick it up cheaper too.

can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two tv's. Im confused by the samsung nomenclature !! what does the F stand for?

http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/samsung/ue40es7000/sams-ue40es7000

http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/samsung/ue40f7000/sams-ue40f7000

ES models are 2012 models, while F are 2013 models.

Here's a review of the F7000: http://www.whathifi.com/review/samsung-ue46f7000 And of ES7000: http://www.whathifi.com/review/samsung-ue40es7000

the es7000 is a good price. My sister and brother in law have this set and they are most happy with it

Not sure if I would invest in a GT50. You're amongst the few with a problem free set.

John Lewis will cover you though, and it will give time for the others to drop in price.

People are still buying them on the AV owners thread.

I might *** to john lewis to have a look at the tv's. :) I reckon if i price match to somewhere like total digital even in there clearance sale they will still be more expensive.

has anyone price matched with total digital prices at john lewis? I know i read somewhere here or another forum (i cant remember where) that said there was a best way to do it because they often said no because that company was online only or something but there is a shop somewhere and a better company name to give? or did i imagine this?

Plus i get to go see the st60 if i make the trip :)

Yep, just price match with Total Digital the shop. John Lewis don't sell the ST60 though, which is why I said about the GT50!

This is quite an interesting read:

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1468719/panasonic-gt50-vs-st60

People comparing the GT50 against the ST60.

I have a feeling in my waters that the gt50 should go into the clearance sale at john lewis tommorow. I am now putting this tv on my list. If the price drops i will deffinately consider this one !!

My feeling after going to john lewis at the weekend is that the gt50 looked better than the 6 series samsung.

I think it will be in the sale too. I think the only TVs better are the new Panasonic plasmas. I would not change for any other TV.
