Well i had the same thing when i bought a 42 inch panasonic plasma, but after a week i moved it to my bedroom cause it became to small ha..so i think you get used to it and for movies how bigger the better.

Hi,

Plug everything in, get the beers/popcorn/munchies in and enjoy your favourite film.

Once you've seen it in action you'll wonder what you were thinking contemplating NOT using it!!

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

PS If all else fails I'll swap you my 42" lol.

Hi,

Where'd you get it?

If you've broken the seal on the carton they'll think you've plugged it in anyway?

I'm sure most retailers would exchange it for something else - there may be a 're-stocking fee' though.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

id be surprised if that was the case , whats the point of having a 7 day or whatever return policy if you cant actually watch the tv ? how are you supposed to know if you like it or not ?

Just tery it on HD images you will not even be bothered by the size, i sometimes think the 42 inch has become to small, and i watch from just 3 mtrs.

Hi

I recently read the what hi fi ultimate guide book and i am pretty sure they said 2m for a 50inch was about perfect.

As regard to not opening the box, just make sure you damage nothing what so ever and you should be fine.

I sit 3m away from an 83in projector screen

If you love movies, as your username - and investment in a seriously high-end TV - suggests, just make sure you feed your big-screen beauty with a quality HD feed and you'll be enjoying an immersive film experience.

Just don't expect SD TV - especially the lower-on-the-planner digital nonsense - to look good...

I would stick with it you'll soon get used to the size, when i got my 46" it seemed huge at first but know i wish i'd spent £100 more & got a 50" because know it feels a bit small, sometimes i only sit 2 or 3 feet away from the set, like i said before stick with it you'll get used to it & you'll be glad you did.

I would keep the screen for seven days - you will get used to the size very quickly. If all else fails I am sure the Panasonic shop would take it back. The VT20 is in very short supply so they would have no trouble moving it on.

i will ring the panasonic shop today and see where i stand if i turn the tv on. i see if there will let me return it still if i still think its to big. walking in to my tv room today it doesnt seem to big so like you lot said i will get used to it.

what are the distances you lot sit from your tv?

This really is one of the most surreal threads I have read for ages. The fact you have unboxed it, assembled it on its stand and so on makes it already a 'used' product - whether or not you now turn it on and actually watch the thing shouldn't make any difference as to whether or not the retailer will take it back.

well i rang the panny store and they said they wouldnt have it back now coz ive open the box now. so i have it on now.. is it normal for plasma to have a slight flicker? i only seem to see it on the sky menu.

Hi,

Fiddle about with the settings - take it off 'dynamic' contrast setting, adjust the brightness etc to suit your veiwing environment.

Start with 'normal' setting and work from there.**

**Not sure of new Panasonic menus but it should have something like that in the picture menu options.

Enjoy. You will you know. And I will swap you if you want. I want a bigger TV.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.
