Hi guys

I have just ordered the Panasonic projector and now need a screen to go with it. Ideal size should be around 3m wide by 2m high.

Has anyone heard of this make: http://www.projectorshop24.co.uk/manual-screen/celexon-screen-manual-professional-280-x-210-cm/

and this seems to cheap to be any good ? http://www.projectorpoint.co.uk/projector-screens/panoview-manual-projector-screens.html

It seems a minefield trying to gather information over the best type of screen. I'ts going in a room 8m x 6m and will be almost completely dark when viewing.

Appreciate any help!

Hi,

Although i have no experience with this PJ i would always firstly recommend a screen with a gain of 1.0. This means that the light that hits it from the PJ is refected back to yourself at the same brightness (or lumens). I have a 2000 lumens PJ and purchased a grey screen for better blacks. Just made whites look grey ruining 'black to white' contrast and punch. If you go for a higher gain (or glass beaded) this will make the reflection brighter. May help a little with 3D but could 'wash out' 2D.

After owning a few screens now i can't say i have seen a massive difference in picture from changing screens as its the return of light rather than anything else that alters the pic. Would suggest that you look at fittings though to find a suitable screen.

Thanks for the reply! have you got an acoustically transparent screen? I'm struggling to pick one from online - I appreciate a high gain is benificial - the rookm will be almost pitch black even in the day so I don't think I need to worry about a grey screen.
