What is DTS?

Hey

I got a movie at the moment but cant figure out what it is?

Is it HD audio or Dolby Digital?

I know what DTS MA is as thats HD, but this just says DTS

Just as Dolby Digital has both standard definition and HD versions, so there is DTS sound and DTS-HD, of which Master Audio is one version.

What's the movie? And on what kind of disc? Blu-ray I assume...

In theory, standard-def DTS can sound better than DD, as it uses less compression.

Watched the pacific yesterday for the first time and DD sounded amazing with the bullets, but not as good as band of brothers when they entered the french village on dics 2 or 3

I guess you watched the Pacific on sky last night?

I can't imagine it being as good as Band Of Brothers on DVD or BD, which I gather you watched that on.
