Asahi is a fantastic beer. Personally, I discovered it whilst in Australia visiting our McVitie's/Carr's distributor but I have never had Asahi Black. Interestingly in Australia they only allow Asahi to be served in Asahi branded glasses or out of the bottle. As a bar if you don't buy their glasses they don't sell you the beer. That's dedication to branding!

Disappointing turnout in the Tedd Arms last night, I must say. There were a large group of people with beards and wearing sweatshirts saying "Tenth Battersea Beer Festival" on them and drinking in half pint glasses and saying "it won a prize you know". Bet they all had Quads.

Kirin Black is fab, too. My wife is in Japan on business at the moment and was telling me on the phone last night she'd spent the previous evening drinking very cold Kirin Burack. In an 'Ilish' bar. That's ma girl!
