I have been a constant reader of your Indian version of the magazine.Kindly answer my simple question.

why the electronics products are not released/available simultaneously/parallelly in Asian/Indian markets as soon as they are released in UK/European markets?

For example Panasonic DMP-BD30 Blu-ray player is available in UK for the past 6-8 months but it haven't even arrived here in Asian/Indian markets yet, we don't even have a particular/certain date of its availabilty in India!, same is the case with Sony BDP-S350.

Why the manufacturer's do that?

I really don't know - it's usually down to the sales and marketing planning by the distributors or, in this case, subsidiary companies.

Oh for global product releases - but apart from very rare examples, they just don't happen. For example, it was galling enough knowing that Asia/Pacific customers could already buy Blu-ray recorders, but last week I found out even France is going to get one ahead of us here in the UK

I'd say subscribe to What Hi-fi? Sound and Vision India, who run many news stories about distributors setting up as well as localised product-release stories.
