What Headphone Amp?

Hello , I have two Headphone Amps in mind , but which one to buy ? They are Project Headbox MK II , or Creek OBH II ? Or if there are other's in this price range please let me know. Any help would be appreciated to help me choose.Many Thanks.

I've not heard the Creek but I can't recommend the Pro-Ject.

I thought it was pretty reasonable at first when I bought one to go with a Denon micro, but more from the point of view that it was a slight improvement on the Denon's headphone socket than anything else. I find it really terrible at handling bass, although it's reasonable(ish) with vocals, acoustics, etc. Mind if I ask what cans and source you're using?

Like Sizzers I can`t recommend the Project either. Had one on home trial awhile back and was very underwhelmed. Go for the Creek.

Mr.P if you are in a position to audition a Graham Slee solo or one comes up x-dem i would advise you to bite there hand off, absolutely stunning, build resolution & will handle the most demanding headphone load thrown at it, at least consider adding it to your list,

Nuforce Icon HD. Best headphone amp you get for the money and relatively cheap. What can you ask for: high quality 24/192 Sabre Dac chip, I2S output through USB in 24/96 resolution, and CHEAP. Hifi choice gave the HDP 5 stars, which uses the same dac as the new HD but has more features.

Don't discount the Firestone Audio Fubar series. Think their IV is the current model, also features an inbuilt DAC from memory - add the optional Supplier PSU and you'll be ticking over nicely. If it's half as good as their Spitfire II DAC, you'll be cooking on gas. John Duncan picked the F-IV up a year or so back and really rated it.
