What do I need to complete my first HiFi system?

Hi there,

First time poster but long time reader of What Hifi.

Currently finalising my first proper HiFi system consisting of Wharfedale Diamond 10.1s, Marantz PM6003 Amp, Arcam rDock with some Chord Carnival Silver Screen speaker cables.

Am just deciding on the last aspect of this system which is the connections between the rDock and the amp and how to go about this.

Can people give me an idea of what interconnects I need (if these are what I need), analogue or digital? phono/av? Sorry I'm only starting to get into this HiFi malarkey but I'm still young!

I believe you'll need an analogue stereo interconnect with phono plugs on both ends - pretty standard. Don't spend a fortune - maybe £40 max - check the WHF reviews.

Would I need to buy two of these cables for both the R and L phono connections to the amp and dock? If I need two then I might go for THIS instead.

The crimson will be fine. It comes as a pair.

I have a chord crimson and a merlin mozart - much prefer the mozart. Seems to give greater clarity to my ears.

Not night and day though......and the new crimson plus is presumably an improvement.

Atlas Equator II is worth a look. I've got that and Crimson and the Atlas is more neutral sounding IMO. Excellent cable.
