What CD do you use as a reference?

Back to the OP. I use Rush's Moving Pictures and Joni Mitchell's Court and Spark, simply because they're the two albums I know best. From there 'll play what I fancy; bit of Peter Bradley Adams, Kate Bush, Blue Nile are always nicely produced, if not always enjoyable. Back in Black can be handy...

Pretty much covers a huge range from vocals to complex bass rhythms and i like it too

Don't know why but I use Starting In The Middle Of The Day We Can Drink Our Poliitcs Away by Matching Mole

And occasionally, National Front Disco by Morrissey.

Mr Duncan, I personally blame you for prompting me to download Moving Pictures. My wife has banned me from mumbling the mantra, "everybody's got to deviate from the norm". Which I'm oft doing.

It's one of my all time favourite vocal phrasings/outros.

Tinseltown in the Rain is one of my very favourite songs. Good version of it on Later on YT. Rest of the album's rubbish though.
