Sounds like a good choice, but a pint sounds more appealing!Election results programmes, boring but can be interesting too. Think I may have found my station for Thursday night, CH4, Hannah Fry is doing the number crunching, great girl with an excellent sense of humour - should be fun
I”m sure there is a lot of exploiting the rich and gullible, going on in the art world, just like very high-end HiFi but, there are a lot of good creative people out there making nice things, because it is what they enjoy doing.Recorded a Beeb2 documentary called The Stormtrooper Scandal a few weeks ago, just got around to watching it. It's about the sale of NFTs of artwork consisting of customised Star Wars stormtrooper helmets, of which a small number exist in the real world. Hard not to conclude that the art world is more about money than creativity, and that those involved were all woefully underequipped to deal with the modern world. Many shirts lost, it seems - including a few who clearly had little to begin with. The Greater Fool Theory in action.
I'm sure that there are, but not many amongst this particular lot!I”m sure there is a lot of exploiting the rich and gullible, going on in the art world, just like very high-end HiFi but, there are a lot of good creative people out there making nice things, because it is what they enjoy doing.
Watched it this afternoon. I have no sympathy for any of them as it all seemed fueled by greed, inflated egos, and get rich quick idiots using bitcoin currency...just another form of gambling as far as I'm concerned. NFTs are not what I would consider art in any way shape or form...this world is going mad.Recorded a Beeb2 documentary called The Stormtrooper Scandal a few weeks ago, just got around to watching it. Given that they ended up being worthless, I'm hoping that means some small measure of sanity returned!Watched it this afternoon. Haha, a friend of mine is a close friend of Adam’s. Incredibly talented guy & the tv show is pretty freaky as Ben Whishaw really nailed his character, but didn’t go for his voice & mannersims so it’s like uncanny valley vs real-life.Also re-watching This is Going to Hurt - based on Adam Kay's memoirs about being a junior doctor. Bleakly comic, and it seems crazy that our lives may end up in the hands of people who are working hours that are (let's put it politely) unsustainable.
Cheers Gray I'll be all over thisThose that like a bit of 'Disco' could do worse than to watch / record BBC2 from 8.25 tomorrow night.
8.25-9.55 'Disco At The Proms' will have the better sound and picture.
Followed by 'Disco At The BBC' Parts 1-3....which has been shown many times before (and will be repeated for as long as there's a BBC).
Yep, ruddy good film, I've got it on disc. Another good one was Man On Fire with Denzel Washington.Just watched Collateral on All4 again and loved it. I've enjoyed every Tom Cruise film, but Collateral is a great late night film, well paced and has a genuinely brutal undercurrent, with Tom Cruise as an efficient and ruthless assassin.
Is that the one where he recruits the taxi driver to take him around the city while he does his hits, then the taxi driver realises he'll be killed at the end of the night.Just watched Collateral on All4 again and loved it. That's the one. It's a film I can watch a few times in a week, if I'm that bored. It's dark at 9pm. Open a beer and unwind. I love these late night suspense action films, with no guns or car chases for the sake of it. It is surprising how some films reveal more after a few sittings. His character, Vincent, gives his 'partner' Max the taxi driver and extra glare as he steps out of the taxi to find his next hit. The look of disappointment in Vincent's face, because Max tried to escape. Incredible realism and attention to detail etc. I don't agree with Tom's creationist beliefs, but I think he's the best actor ever and actually worth his millions. He also does his own stunts and is a perfectionist. Is that the engineering ne where he recruits the taxi driver to take him around the city while he does his hits, then the will axi driver realises he'll be killed at the end of the night.
I've just re read my message, stupid autocorrect, fat fingering the phone keyboard again and not proof reading before I hit send. I don't know how "is that the one" ended up as " " is that the engineering ne"🤦🤣.That's the one. It's a film I can watch a few times in a week, if I'm that bored. It's dark at 9pm.
