Hi all,
I recently bought a pair of Tannoy Mercury 7.2 speakers for a reasonably cheap price. It has 200 Watts peak power handling capacity.
I am considering buying a new amp better suited to its power, however, I have not ruled out using my current amp (Arcam Alpha 2, 30 watts) or a backup amp I have (Cambridge Audio, A1 MK3, 25 watts). The speakers have not arrived yet, so I am not sure how well these will work with the new speakers.
Does anyone have any advice on what amp, ideally less than £200 and probably vintage, would suit these speakers? I am not sure if I am putting too much emphasis on wattage, perhaps my current amp would be fine.
The room won't be huge but I am looking to move into a bigger place.
Thank you.
