Sony PS-LX300USB- can I just get powered speakers and skip the receiver? I don't need a fancy set up. I am also toying with a Sonos wireless system. Any help is greatly appreciated. Before you bash my turntable-it was a gift and I am making due ;)

Yes: just set the line/phono switch on the rear of the turntable to 'line', and you can then connect into any powered/active speaker system able to accept an analogue input.

And yes, that means you could connect it into a Sonos system, but you'd need to connect the turntable to the line-in on a Play:5, as it's the only one of the three Sonos speakers to have a line-in, or to a Sonos Connect. Either of these will then feed the sound from the turntable to other Sonos speakers on the network.

WOOHOO!!!!! Thanks friend!!!!!

YVW: that's what we're here for. Well, that and the arguing, anyway! ;-)

(By the way, other wireless speaker systems are available, and offer similar facilities: might be worth checking out BlueSound, HEOS by Denon, etc)
