ways of biwiring a pair of speakers

Is there any advantage (sound-wise) in
doing a biwired connection like this :

Hi galone, seems to me that the second image is not bi-wiring at all. I might be wrong here, but you might as well use a binding post link on the speakers to get the same effect. The first image does show a bi-wired setup.

Then there is bi-amping with two mono blocks or two power amps, this is where things get interesting and I really notice an improvement in the sound
