Hey

I need M8 screws for my new 46" but the ones I have on my old LG are M6.

I know M8 is standard, but the lengths are different, and I cant see in the book were it says about length.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I stuck a straw at the back is it goes 40mm into it, so with the plastic spacer I might need:

M8 1 and a half inch? Does that sound right?

No point me going to b&q if I dont know what length I need

But how do I know what length of screw I need?

Like you said they are all lenghts, Do I need 1 inch, 2 inch?

How do I know, I cant bring my tv down and try all the lenghts.

Thanks

Hi,

40mm is just over 1«" so that's the length to aim for. Measure the spacer and add this onto the length of screw - if it's a «" spacer, you'll need no longer than 2" M8.

You can't take the TV to the store but it's worth buying a couple of different length of screws to take home and size up.

Edit: Given your recent luck I'd pay for an installer...

i put a straw in and it was 40mm or 45mm with the spacer.

I take it that we are talking about the thread depth in the back of the TV.

If so, a 40mm screw length will be fine, you do not want the screw bottoming out in the threaded hole in the TV.

Something like this should be fine.

Hi, did you work out which screws to use? I'm having the same problem with the same tv??

Desperate to get it on the wall before my toddler ruins it :-/

I'm not sure you should be looking at screws. I'd be surprised if you should use anything other than bolts for the fixings into the TV.

Samsung must be getting cheap in their old age. The wall mount holes on the back of my (admittedly ancient) Sony have captive nuts in them, and you need to use bolts to attach the bracket.

I would be a bit apprehensive about putting a pointy screw into the back of my TV!
