Does anyone own this TV and not experience the 50hz problems? I've already returned one which had problems but still tempted to try another one seeing as the picture is superb 90% of the time, there are some good deals availble and that the 52HX903 is far more expensive.

I think some people have a susceptibility to seeing the 50hz problems. Canvassing opinion from VT20 owners may not be helpful to you, some owners just see the issue less. All you can do is visit another dealer and see if their stock presents the problem to you.

In my particular case after 2 bad V20s, enough was enough. In no way was it subtle the way motion was cocking up.

I had a polish guy ask my opinion on what he could get instead of the VT20. He had seen the 50hz problems first hand and was not amused. He is more than happy with his 54" Z1 he bought instead. I have the 46" Z1 myself, there is some remaining stock of both if you search hard enough, A 54" can be had for £2099.

Other than that I would wait until new models surface in Spring, but they usually release the low end models, first, Can you really wait til June? hmmmm

the 50hz problems bothered me enough to return two v20's. yet a friend of mine thought i was being far too picky, he wasn't at all bothered by them, and didnt even notice them most of the time..i think a minimum of a weeks home trial is needed to find out if you can live with the issue or not though..

sorts of deals for the 52hx903 are around the £2600 mark with the cashback (bringing it down to the £2250 price bracket) this is with the 3d bundle included. Good luck!

54 Z1 beyond my budget and 46 too small. I think, 50hz problems aside, the Z1 would be a backward step.

Can't really wait till mid 2011.

to be onest i watch mainly blu-ray and thats filmed at 24hz which gives me a brilliant picture but i always put the (isfcc) setting on when watching 50hz material if i notice any judder but otherwise i love it.

by the way the other so called sets are not perfect at 50hz either

This is also beyond my budget. Might have to wait and see what happens in the sales but unfortunately, patience isn't one of my virtues.

I had motion problems with blu ray aswell and IFC was worse IMO (different problems/soap opera effect).

tvspecv:defo the set was faulty then was yours the 3d one?

Yes. I've never read or heard of anyone having problems with blu ray but mine definitely did. I compared a lot of blu rays with the VT20 and my G20 and the same films were fine on the G20. Maybe some sets barely show the problems while others suffer very badly. This is why I'm keen to find out if anyone has V or VT without any ghosting/motion problems because my set may have simply been a faulty set like you say.

im sure you know the problems ive been having trying to get my 46hx903, it has took 3 months!! i asked about the 52hx903 at my local Sony Center, where i ordered my 46hx903. . . . they basicily laughed at me! if anyone can get a 52hx903 then i take my hat off to them, loads of places are advertising them along with the 46" version, but no one seems to be able to get hold of them except Sony Centers.
