Hi all,

I have only ever used my system to watch movies. Now I am contemplating hooking up my V+ box to the amp, but was wondering what sound I would get from the connected speakers.

Is it surround sound or does audio just come from the fronts or centre for instance?

Are there settings on the V+ box that need altering to achieve surround sound?.

Hook up with optical.

Depends what mode you have your amp set to. Most programs in stereo but your amp should do virtual 5.1 or 5 channel stereo. Some programsare broadcast in DD.

No settings on the V+ box, other than option 8 then option 4 HDMI Audio overide on / off. Should be on when going to amp

Ahhhhhh right two option then

1. Plug HDMI into reciever and turn HDMI override off.

or (as I have mine set up

2. HDMI to TV and optical to receiver so I can switch on as and when you want to .

Think I may be getting it now,

I take it with option 2, you do not have to have the amp on all the time to watch TV, just as and when you require it? When you do wish to watch tv with the amp and speakers, change the Hdmi overide to 'ON'.

Many thanks
