Virgin TiVo TV Quality

Got a new TV Yesterday,

Full 1080p HD Smart Samsung LED, Set it all up and found all the channels on freeview and the HD channels look fantastic.

But why when I change to my TiVo box and watch the same HD channel is the picture not as good?

I had this on my old TV which was also 1080p, when i had my XBOX ONE or Laptop connected it was 1920x1080p 60p but when i switched to Tivo it changed the picture quality to something like 768xsomething 50p

I just dont get it why, all my inputs ( XBOX ONE, TIVO, LAPTOP ) go through my AVR and then out of my AVR to the TV.

Is it just the TIVO box which doesnt support 1080p?

Maybe your TIVO box isn't upscaling well. Switch the upscaling off and let the TV do the job.

although it does say that it should do it automaticaly when connected via hdmi but it won't hurt to check.

Thanks for the response guys,

At work at the moment, will try these suggestions when i get home.

It would just seem a waste of the TV's potential if the TiVo box is pulling it down

I followed the link suggestion and it was ticked on 576p... I manually changed it to 1080I and 1080p pass-through and the picture quality has improved tenfold.
