Is this speaker rear vented or bottom vented? If it's bottom vented may it work in a small room close to back walls?

I ponced a pair of these for a listen, just for the fun of it, quite a while back. If my memory serves me well i think they are rear ported. Nice speakers but i do remember that i found that they needed a bit of air behind them. If your room is quite small my gut feeling is they will boom a fair bit. Can't you get a pair on dem to have a listen to em ?. What amp will you be driving them with ?.
