I'm looking to upgrade the speaker cable on my budget-ish system comprising Marantz CD6002 CDP, NAD C326BEE amp and MS Avant 902i speakers.

The cable I currently have is unbranded stuff I was given 20 years ago by a mate who was himself upgrading. I don't know if it's decent-quality cable or not, but I'm assuming that the highly-rated cables of today will be better.

The Van Damme cable in the thread title is available from audiovisualonline.co.uk for what seems a bargain £4.40 per metre with free delivery.

Is this good cable? And is it a good choice, given my current system components, or are there other more suitable options?

Thanks for any views.

Looks good to me.
You can't beat a bit of girth when it comes to speaker wire. Allows through, all your amp can throw at the speakers.

That's a good price so I'd give it a whirl.

IMO the Chord Carnival Silverscreen suits NAD gear very well and I feel it'd bring out the decent soundstage of the Marantz CDP as well.

Have a nosey on eBay for 2nd hand cable or possibly other related hifi forums where you have the ability to buy & sell

I have the 6mm Studio Grade Blue. It's a really great cable. £4.40 is the cheapest i've heard it sell for, too. I bought mine last year, for just under a fiver a metre. I wrote a review on here when I bought mine. It's here if you want to read it.

Buy it with confidence, you won't be disappointed.

EDIT: Just one note of caution: It's a very thick cable, just under an inch across, so it's difficult to hide it away.

I bought a few meters of the 6mm Van Damme on the weekend ... (will keep it as a spare) ... paid £6.99/m

It's not the blue one (see pic).... looks like the flat cable made by van den hull ....should be be very similar to the Hitachi cable that I use now (LC-OFC)

I'm using Van Damme Studio Grade Blue 2 x 4mm between my Uniti and EB1's and I'm more than happy with the sound. It's re-assuringly "thick" , it feels good if that makes sense. At £3.10 p/m you cannot go wrong.
