Using a British system in the States

I moved back to the States 11 years ago. For all this time , I've been using a 240V/50Hz system I bought in the UK. It requires a good size transformer to adapt the power, and the wires etc. are a pain. The system is quite old, and I'm thinking of replacing this with a 120V/60Hz system.]

My old system is a Rotel 8408 amp, a Rotel 840L tuner, and an Arcam Alpha 1 CD. I get virtually no reception from the tuner, which is another reason to change. The speakers are B&W CDM2 (Special edition).

Question 1: is there a single unit system that would offer amp, CD, and tuner and reach this quality? Or is there perhaps a combined tuner/amp unit that would at least reduce the number of boxes a bit?

Question 2: If not, as I don't want to descend in quality -- any recommendations for a direction to go in?

Thanks,

HG

1 - I'm figuring to spend up to $500; possibly used equipment to cut costs

2 - We get good AM/FM reception on other equipment; it seems to be this tuner that is not really functioning.
