upscaling 1080p dvd player recommendations or opinons??

Hi,

I am new here and not very technical, as the title suggests I am looking to buy my parents a decent upscaling dvd player for christmas as they recently invested in a LG 42LF65 tv, not looking to spent much more that £100 on one so that rules out the popular denon players etc.

My other question is will it be really worth it? should the tv not have a decent upscaler already in it?? I dont want to buy one if it aint going to be much better than the current dvd player they have setup via scart.

Any opinions, recommendations or help would be great thanks.

However I have read that with this TV the picture Judders if when fed with 1080p/24 PS3 signal

on a tv that price the built in scaler should be better than a £100 dvd player's one. But, some advantage can be got from having a dvd player connected via hdmi. (not a great deal better). Buy them something decent to watch on their tv, is my advice. a dvd box set perhaps.
