Hello,
I'm new here and hope somebody could help or at least guide me in the right direction.
My current equipment is: Pioneer Plasma PDP 4270XA, PS3, Sky HD, Kenwood KRF5050D, Mission 702E fronts, Mission 70ds rears & Wharfedale Valdus se centre, Tacima conditioner/block, QED HDMI, optical & Gale speaker leads.
I am about to upgrade my AV receiver and speakers as it is obvious that the vision side of things has moved on somewhat from the sound!
I have narrowed the receiver search to either a Yamaha DSP-AX763, which I find very tempting at £299 (Richer Sounds) or Sony STR-DA2400es (£379) and due to space (and budget!) the speakers will most likely be Jamo A102H5S (found for £183 at Amazon) and add a dedicated Blu-ray player later. Would one or the other receivers be better with these speakers or indeed another receiver?
The only fault I can see with the Yamaha is that it has only 2 HDMI inputs so if I wanted to have 3 HDMI sources then can I use a two way HDMI splitter inbetween the receiver and the TV to input the Sky HD as the Pioneer has only 1 HDMI input? Of course if I chose the Sony this wouldn't be a problem as there are plenty of inputs, however, I want to get the best possible sound on a limited budget.
Also am I correct in thinking that the Sky HD only outputs multichannel sound via the optical rather than the HDMI output?
Thanks in advance
