Hi everybody,
I need some advices from you, Home Cinema enthusiasts:
I currently own a (very) low-class system composed of a yamaha RX-800 receiver + Bose acoustimass 10 speakers (I know, I know, I was young and stupid).
I'd like to upgrade my system, and my budget is around 1000-1200 GBP.
The intent is to buy a piece of equipment I would keep for quite a fair bit of time.
I was looking at buying an Onkyo 3007 receiver (last year's high range model, now at a bargain) after having read very good reviews.
OR I could go with new speakers (like B&W 685 5.1)
The problem is I feel these speakers are good mid-class speakers, but not "high-class" speakers.
And I don't really want to spend 1200 GBP now then buy new speakers in 2 years after having spared some more money.
So question: Will the Onkyo 3007 make a big improvement in sound coupled with my bad Bose Acoustimass speakers?
Or B&W 685 speakers coupled with my Yamaha receiver now (and the onkyo later) will sound so good I won't want to change them after 3 years?
Many thanks,
Jon
