upgrading my system

I've made the decision to upgrade my system. At the moment i've got  marantz cd6000ose cd player, marantz pm7001ki amp and B&W 602.5 SPEAKERS. My decision is the speakers are going. The only reason is they no longer excite me like they used to. I would like a sound that is more eager and involved. The only problem is I've not heard much that is out there only read reviews. I'm considering the mordaunt short mezzo 6's as you can get these for £600 from richer sounds but don't really want to spend any more than this. My music preference is dance and 80's pop I would appreciate any ideas thankx

Excellent source and amp you have (my favorite 7001KI). Yeah, your weakest link are the speakers, and your choice of MS Mezzo 6 are good indeed, for your kind of music. Said that, you can also consider for a little more money, Monitor Audio RS6, good bass and detail, and excellent synergy with Marantz.

I suggest you try and audition the Klipsch range of speakers. If you are looking for bookshelf type the RB 81 or 61s would do, or if its floor standers you are after then I would recommend the RF 82s you should get these for around your price range.

if u want greater bass and sepration, go for Mezzo 8. think this will be more suitable for the genre of song u r listening.
