Upgrading my new amp to upscale video..?

Hey

I got my pioneer VSX 819 for 250.00 which got me started and I love it.

But is the video upscale on say the 919 or the 1019 worth it, will it really show sky programs in 1080?

I might be getting some money, and I was just wondering if I should sell and but an amp that has video upscale?

Upscaling doesn't mean your programs will suddenly magically be high-def. If you have an HDTV, this will already be upscaling standard def Sky programs to fit its native resolution (so if it's a Full HD TV, then yes, 1080p). That's not to say the Pioneer amp won't do a better job at upscaling - it'll very much depend on what TV you have and how good it is at upscaling, but don't just buy an upscaling amp and assume it will be better. Definitely worth a demo first before spending out money.
