upgrade

I am looking for some advice on where to go next with my Hi Fi.



I am currently using…

Marantz 6002 CD player

Rotel RA -04 amp

Wharfdale 9.1 speakers



I have chord crimson interconnects and QED silver ann biwire speaker cable.



I am using an alphason stand and atacama aurora 6 speaker stand.



I am not sure what would make the most sensible component to upgrade 1st.



I am think about the speakers or the CD player but not sure where I would see the most benefit. I have around 600 to spend one piece- any recommendations?

Hi Catnap.

I would suggest that your speakers could easily withstand an upgrade of your 'front end'.

For your budget I would suggest a simple upgrade to the Marantz 6003 if you like the Marantz sound or, if you can sell on your existing CD player then go for the Audiolab 8200CD.
