Upgrade path for music ?

Having just added an Arcam AVR350 to my system, ( including a Marantz DV7001 ) my question is, is there any advantage in adding a seperate CD player, for example an Arcam CD73T, or how much further would I need to go, to notice definate improvements over the DV7001 ? It is not happening any time soon, as " the plastic " is going into meltdown this festive season, but just planning my next spend, to see how many pennies I need to save. Thanks. Tim

you'll do fine to stick with the marantz, its a quality disc-spinner

Thanks J. Don't get me wrong I think the Marantz is great too. But obviously there comes a point where my Arcam amp and B&W 603 speakers ( quality interconnects and cables used ), will not benefit from a better quality source. I guess my question is, is the Marantz as good as it gets for me, or with a better quality source can I achieve even more pleasing results, and what in people's opinion that might be ? Anyone ?
