Upgrade Long Overdue

For many years my system has comprised NAD 5325 CD player, NAD 3225PE amp and NAD 8225 speakers on target stands. I have already upgraded speaker and interconnect cables (Chord carnival and Atlas equator) and I am looking to upgrade entire system over the next 6 months, starting with CD player, speakers then amp. I have shortlisted: CD Players : NAD C545BEE, MARANTZ CD6003 Speakers : Monitor Audio Bronze BX2, B&W 685 Amplifier : NAD C326BEE, MARANTZ PM6003 Before I start auditioning should what else should I be looking at? My music collection includes most genres, mainly listening to rock and blues though. Feedback appreciated. thanks Gary

Out of interest is the NAD gear still running? How old is it?

You may want to add the Yamaha AS 500 to your list of amps, due to the great reviews. The Dali and Castle speakers as well as the KEF Q's are also good budget speakers so maybe worth a listen.

Gear is approx 20 year old.
Amp and speakers are fine, still in great condition.
The CD player went back not long after purchase because the tray jammed, and now it's temperamental if it wants to play or not.

I would also add Yamaha's A-S500 amplifier and budget permitting Rega's Apollo cdp and Dynaudio's DM 2/6 speakers. Looking at this from a different angle i think you should also look in to the possibility of a DAC as this can open up the door to using other digital media. The order in which you wish to purhase the components is spot on

Btw, are floorstanding speakers a possibility?

I'd be happy to pursue floorstanding speakers, alhtough the room I'm in at the moment is only approx. 4m x 2.5m.
