Hi Ben Law,

I have had the ATC SCM 11 and 19 and have heard the 20 and 40 (and a couple of weeks the ATL 150!!) so I am totally "possessed" by the ATC sound. In my search for new speakers I heard Sonus Faber, AudioPhysic, PMC, Magico and Diapason. All very nice speakers but after hearing all this speakers y came at least to the ATC dealer and heard the ATC SMC 50 and immediately it was clear for me that this was exactly the sound I was looking for. I just love the naturality of ATC sound. This active speakers are also amazing dynamic and precise. the chord electronic add the musicality and the qdb76HDSD DAC the sweetness touch to give an amazing result. Could not be more happy, with the bonus of a really big sound that the ATC SCM 50 can deliver without a hint of distortion. totally happy!!!

Your ATCs beat off some serious competition......would you mind giving the models demoed, a brief comment on each of them, and the order you that you would rank them?

Is your wooden floor suspended, or laid on concrete?

regarding the other speakers I would rank them like this

AP SCORPIO 25 good looking speaker and very well build. they are to sweet and bassy for my taste. the one I liked less

SONUS FABERR CREMONA M The look was not of my taste but also very good built. This speakers deliver a very smooht and relaxed sound but laked at the grip and dynamic I am use to wiht ATC. I really regret not have heard them wiht my ex Diablo. I think it should be a nice match.

DIAPASON AESTERA Very lovly monitors. Very define and warm sound. very natural. If I had deside to stay with monitors, this will be my choise. highly recomended.

MAGICO V2 No words! but to out of my budget

I am talking very genral as in this level of speakers all deliver a good soundsstage, very hollografic, etc it came more of a thing of taste. adn I am really happy wiht my choise. just love my system!!

This result doesn't surprise me, as SF and ATC are opposide ends of the spectrum......the APs that I have heard were also on the smoother side of things, but a little unexciting.

Speakers that are refined, natural, musical, yet exciting, usually make a good choice ......a good description of Diapason.
